Soil Micromorphology is an important science drawing on expertise in such diverse disciplines as Pedology, Archeology, Geology, Engineering Geotechnics.
It provides an important insight into many problems of soil development, diagenesis, and weathering, soil/plant interactions, sedimentology [both terrestial
and marine], glaciology, paleo-environmental
reconstruction, pollution studies, and ground water flow.
